In December, homeowners were pleasantly surprised as the UK Government revealed a significant initiative aimed at facilitating the transition to solar energy.
As part of the Government’s £6.6 billion Warm Homes Plan, this new initiative—set to launch later this year—will provide grants for solar panel installations to fuel-poor households, along with low-interest, government-backed loans for higher-income families.
Furthermore, the proposed changes are anticipated to include enhancements that would allow households to earn more from selling surplus electricity generated by their solar panels back to the grid.
Additional details are anticipated to be revealed in the Government’s 2025 Spending Review this spring.
We warmly welcome this initiative, as we see it as a crucial step toward making solar energy more attainable for homeowners across the UK.

Find out more about the SolarEdge range
We’ve not yet reached the end of January and it already feels like the UK has been under a constant storm cloud and with headlines like these why wouldn’t you want to proof your home from storm caused power cuts.
Diesel and petrol back up generators have always been popular in areas with persistent power failures. These normally require a manual change over switch and having to listening to the noise of the generator running, regardless of whether it is being used or not. With the advent of solar and lithium battery installations, you can now install an automatic change over switch, which will power your home using the power stored in your SolarEdge Home Battery, silently and seamlessly.
Some inverters have the ability to allow the running of a single socket to power a light for example, whilst a SolarEdge Backup Interface sits between your homes meter and fuse board, allowing the full house to be powered from your battery in the event of a power cut.
Right now until the end of January SolarEdge are offering a free Backup Interface when purchased with a SolarEdge Battery and Home Hub Inverter.
